The Board of the WSPF is humbled and honored to be selected by The Chronicle as the recipient of the Special Recognition Award!
We have thoroughly enjoyed working alongside Winston-Salem Police Department staff, community partners and the youth of our city. We will continue to work hard to facilitate building relationships between law enforcement and the community we serve. A special thank you to all of the businesses and individuals who have supported the Foundation over the last 2 1/2 years.  We’ll see you March 24 at the Community Service Awards Banquet!

ICYMI: Winston-Salem Police Foundation Supports WSPD Promotion Ceremony

In December of 2017, the Winston-Salem Police Department held a promotional ceremony for several personnel at BB&T Ballpark in downtown.  The ranks awarded ranged from Corporal to Assistant Chief.  The Winston-Salem Police Foundation was proud to support this momentous occasion by supplying all of the official promotion plaques for each officer.  The Board of the Foundation is proud and thankful to each of these officers for their hard work and dedication to our community.

John Railey, the Journal Editorial Page Editor, featured the Winston-Salem Police Foundation in the September 10th Op/Ed of the Winston-Salem Journal.  The piece highlights the Foundation’s newest initiative, Operation Sweet Reads.

In part, Scott Sewell, WSPF Board President, spoke of the potential impact of the Sweet Reads vehicle.
“He has introduced his son to some of the officers. “There are a lot of other kids that, for whatever reason, they’re afraid of police officers. But wouldn’t it be great if years from now you had a story about this Sweet Reads program, about a kid who became a police officer because of the connections he or she made through it?”
