May 16, 2022The Winston-Salem Police Foundation is pleased to once again make available applications for three separate scholarship opportunities. 2022 is the third year in which the WSPF has made these scholarships available.
Each of the three scholarships will have a one disbursement of $1,000 to cover tuition and related educational expenses for the recipient to attend an accredited college or university.

- General Community Scholarship
- To receive consideration, applicants must:
- Attend a Winston-Salem Forsyth County high school and reside in the City of Winston-Salem (Winston-Salem Police Department’s service area)
- Be a graduating high school senior
- Have a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.0 and a transcript reflecting a challenging course selection
- Demonstrate outstanding leadership, school service, and community involvement.
- Complete a comprehensive essay on Police and Community Relations. This essay should include specific action steps on what the community and the police can do to improve community relations.
- Candidates must demonstrate high morals, integrity, generosity, community service, and excellence, all of which are indicative of the mission of the Winston-Salem Police Foundation.
- To receive consideration, applicants must:
- WSPD Dependent scholarship
- To receive consideration, applicants must:
- Be the legal child or grandchild of a current or retired Winston-Salem Police Department employee
- Be a graduating high school senior
- Have a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.0 and a transcript reflecting a challenging course selection
- Demonstrate outstanding leadership, school service, and community involvement.
- Complete a comprehensive essay on Police and Community Relations. This essay should include specific action steps on what the community and the police can do to improve community relations.
- Candidates must demonstrate high morals, integrity, generosity, community service, and excellence, all of which are indicative of the mission of the Winston-Salem Police Foundation.

- Millennial Scholars participant scholarship
- To receive consideration, applicants must:
- Be a member of the Millennial Scholars program at Carver or Parkland High Schools.
- Be a graduating high school senior
- Have a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.5.
- Demonstrate outstanding leadership, school service, and community involvement.
- Complete a comprehensive essay on Police and Community Relations. This essay should include specific action steps on what the community and the police can do to improve community relations.
- Candidates must demonstrate high morals, integrity, generosity, community service, and excellence, all of which are indicative of the mission of the Winston-Salem Police Foundation.
