January 16, 2025The Winston-Salem Police Foundation is pleased to once again make available applications for three separate scholarship opportunities. Thanks to continued support from local business and individuals, 2025 is the sixth year in which the WSPF has made these scholarships available.
Each of the three scholarships will have a one disbursement of $1,000 to cover tuition and related educational expenses for the recipient to attend an accredited college or university.
The three categories are:

DUE DATE: Applications are due Friday, March 21, 2025.

3. Transcript – an official copy bearing school seal. Place in a business envelope, seal and secure by the Official School Stamp.

DESCRIPTION: The Winston-Salem Police Foundation Community Scholarship
The Winston-Salem Police Foundation may provide a one-time scholarship in the amount of $1,000 to a graduating high school senior from Winston-Salem who will pursue an undergraduate degree from an accredited post-secondary institution. Scholarships will be applied to the cost of undergraduate tuition, fees, room and board, and other college expenses.
CRITERIA: To receive consideration, applicants must:
- Attend a Winston-Salem Forsyth County high school and reside in the City of Winston-Salem (Winston-Salem Police Department’s service area)
- Be a graduating high school senior
- Have a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.0 and a transcript reflecting a challenging course selection
- Demonstrate outstanding leadership, school service, and community involvement.
- Complete a comprehensive essay on Police and Community Relations. This essay should include specific action steps on what the community and the police can do to improve community relations.
- Candidates must demonstrate high morals, integrity, generosity, community service, and excellence, all of which are indicative of the mission of the Winston-Salem Police Foundation.
This scholarship will be presented to the Awardee on a one-time basis. Information should be typed or printed in black ink, legibly and completely. Incomplete applications will not be considered for this scholarship. Only the Awardee will be notified.

- Be the child or grandchild of a current or retired Winston-Salem Police Department employee
- Be a graduating high school senior

Scholarships will be applied to the cost of undergraduate tuition, fees, room and board, and other college expenses.
CRITERIA: To receive consideration, applicants must:
- Be a member of the Millennial Scholars program at East Forsyth, North Forsyth, or Parkland High Schools.

- Demonstrate outstanding leadership, school service, and community involvement.
