#GivingTuesdayNow is a new global day of giving and unity that will take place on May 5, 2020 – in addition to the regularly scheduled Dec 1, 2020 #GivingTuesday – as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19.
Today is National Peace Officers Memorial Day. Although this year, in person gatherings had to be cancelled due to COVID-19, it does not minimize the importance of remembering and honoring WSPD and all officers across the country who have sacrificed their lives to keep the public safe.
The Winston-Salem Police Foundation announced three students of the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School System (WS/FCS) students’ recipients of its inaugural scholarship.
Residents who wish to help local children have a brighter Christmas can donate toys during the “Pack the Patrol Car” and “Fill the Fire Truck” toy drive this week, sponsored by the Winston-Salem Police and Fire departments.
The Blood Drive will be December 17, 2020 from 10am-730pm at the Home and Garden Building at the W-S Fairgrounds (421 W. 27thSt). It is only one day this year so make sure you mark your calendar. Tell your friends, tell your family, tell anyone who will listen. Donate!!
